04 Patented friction damper device
Damptech is a Danish company, producing a patented friction damper, to protect buildings and bridges from damages during earthquakes.

In 2000, Kim Pedersen assisted Damptech entering the Japanese market. Several companies, including the 5 largest companies within the construction industry (Takenaka Komuten, Shimizu Kensetsu, Obayashi Gumi, Kajima Kensetsu, Taisei Kensetsu) was introduced. Further most relevant manufacturer of dampers in Japan was introduced as well. This led to Damptechs first project completed in 2003, in Osaka. Damptech has since then had many Japan projects. In 2023, we had the pleasure again to get in contact with Damptech regarding tasks on the Japanese market.

Damptech got connected with major Japanese general constructors and today more than 20 years after, they have several references on the Japanese market, including the tallest building in Osaka, where Damptech technology is used.
